  • Design for Freedom: Case Study Symposium

    InFEWS/DevEng students will present their case studies. Each case will have 10 minutes of oral presentation and 5 minutes Q&A at the end will be a mata-analysis discussion of the cases: what do we learn from these case-studies? What is the role of academia in enhancing development as freedom? What are the essential characteristics of design that brings freedom?

  • DevEng/InFEWS workshop: Enhance your presentation skills

    During the first half of the workshop, Dr. Vivek Rao will videotape each DevEng210 student during their presentations. The second half of the workshop will be focused on reflection and discussion about the ways to enhance their presentation skills both through graphics and through their oral argumentations.

  • Big Ideas Grand Prize Pitch Day

    April 24, 2019  5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

    Each year select finalist teams are invited to attend the Big Ideas Grand Prize Pitch Day in April, where teams present their project ideas to a panel of esteemed judges. Judges then select Pitch Day winners to receive an additional award, ranging from $1,000 for third place, $3,000 for second place, to $5,000 for first place. It continues to be one of our most exciting events!

  • Big Ideas Awards Celebration

    The Awards Celebration brings together the entire Big Ideas community to mark the conclusion of the 2018-2019 contest. This year’s winners will participate in a poster session, have an opportunity to demo their prototypes, and network with attendees. Winning teams will be formally recognized and there will be plenty of opportunities for judges, mentors, industry professionals and teams to network, engage and learn.
